Yesterday we ran the second of our summer workshops, looking at climate friendly gardening methods. Carole Egner from Echo Earth Care led a fascinating discussion of permaculture techniques and how they could be applied to gardening. We learned about maintaining healthy soil ecosystems, no-dig gardening, water management and natural fertilisers (including 'humanure' - yes that is exactly what you think it is). I now have aspirations to build a composting toilet in my garden!
